Extension, remodelling and renovation for private client in Notting Hill

The Yellow House falls within the early nineteenth-century townscape of the Ladbroke Estate. The historic boundaries of this estate are presently reflected in the extent of the Ladbroke Conservation Area. The site was developed as part of the earliest phase of building works within the estate, undertaken by Joshua Flesher Hanson, a house-builder known for the construction of Regency Square in Brighton.

Wignall & Moore provided full architectural and interior design services from concept to completion, including project and cost management. Planning permission was secured for two extensions to this key heritage building in a conservation area.

The project addressed the fragmented and plain appearance of the rear façade, restoring the intended decorative detail and quality. Two extensions were created, increasing the habitable space at the first and lower ground floors. Interiors were re-designed throughout with bespoke joinery and finishes.
